Kaitawa Point Whitireia Park

Leaving from this bay within the Whitireia Park there is loop walk, ideal for families. The Te Onepoto track is 4.7km long and takes about an hour 20. Longer if you choose to picnic on the way.

The Bay itself provides a safe and sandy swimming beach.

Near the car park there is a replica of Kupe's anchor stone. The original known as Maungaroa is in Te Papa Museum.
