Plimmerton Station

Plimmerton is an island station on the Wellington urban rail system as well as on the North Island main trunk line.

From 1885 theWellington and Manawatu Railway Company (W&MRC) began a weekend train service from Wellington to Plimmerton that helped establish the area as a beach resort. In 2004, faced with a threat to demolish the station a community initiative led to its restoration. Under the agreement reached Mack's Track, a railway model specialist, has a store in the station as well as providing a ticket agency and café.

TRANSPORT: Suburban Trains run every 30 minutes at peak times.
