50 Cotons Road, Barrhill-Hororata, Selwyn
This is an 1864 Cob Cottage which has made it's way into the care of the Hororata Historical Society and gained Heritage Status. The cob cottage was built by a Mr Bentley Coton, for his family in the 1860s and and served as the Anglican place of worship until the local church was built in 1875. It changed hands only once before it became a reserve along with the surrounding quarter acre in the 1970s. Damage from the 2010 earthquake was repaired and it remains furnished with period furniture. The Historical Society are also responsible for the second building which was moved onto the plot as a Museum. Not far from Hororata town off Bealey Road.
