186 Devon Street East, New Plymouth, New Plymouth
Award winning organic beers since 1989.
Meet mike, (with a small 'm', it's a trademark) his manager son Ron and the crew, take a brewery tour, taste the beers as well as fruit and grape wines, cider, liqueur and the odd surprise. Also a bistro and function venue.
This craft brewery says it is officially New Zealand's oldest, having been here since 1989. A few changes have kept them current, one being a name change from 'whitecliffs' (they were located at Urenui near Whitecliffs), turning organic, and another was a brief brush with liquidation in 2016. But the beer and the family business have survived and indeed thrived and have lots of awards to show for it too.
The biggest move was into town, New Plymouth and it has been a success so far.
