NZ Co-operative Dairy Company Office Building - Quest Hamilton

This 1920 brick office building is a Heritage icon in Hamilton, by virtue of it's own presence and it's association with the Waikato's biggest economic generator, dairy.

Ever since the days of Land Wars and bush clearing, settlers of the Waikato saw the region's potential for dairying, and the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy was an early giant in the processing industry. The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy factory out at Tauwhare Road, Matangi, and an old manager's house at the same location are both also heritage protected due to their origins with this company. Like Edmonds in Christchurch, the factory had large gardens.
