80 High Street, Ongaonga-Waipawa, Central Hawke's Bay
This small Central Hawkes Bay town (population 2,000) claims to be New Zealand's oldest inland town. It sits on the northern bank of the Waipawa River. Jan Gosling champions the town through her website Waipawa.com. A concrete duck figures prominently. The story is on the site. The Central Hawkes Bay Museum is also the information centre.
