705 Queen Street, Thames, Thames-Coromandel
Thames-Coromandel Community Halls
The Coromandel Heritage Trust has provided itself a home by restoring the town's Carnegie library. The Treasury houses an important archive relating to the early history of Thames and the entire Coromandel Region.
The library was first opened in 1905. Subsequently (2015), a new 'Treasure chest' providing a modern matching companion to the library has been skillfully added. It was designed by Architectus and provides full archival facilities.
